Image
quality varies from scan to scan depending on many factors including
foetal position, location of the placenta, quantity of amniotic fluid
around the baby, mother's condition, and bladder fullness. For these
reasons, image quality cannot be guaranteed. While it is rare that we
cannot get a suitable image, we may arrange another session on a later
date at no charge.

Some
ultrasound exams do require that you have a full bladder. However a
full bladder is not needed for your ultrasound session. Overall
hydration increases the amount of amniotic fluid around the baby which
translates into better pictures. It is important that you drink lots of
water in the few days leading up to your ultrasound. On the day of your
ultrasound scan however, we will have you empty your bladder before
beginning as to optimize visualization. This is different from other
ultrasounds!
